Alexis is a Boise native and began her dance training at a very young age. She was a member of the Sweet Liberty Dance team at Centennial High School and continued her dance education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Alexis danced professionally as a cast member for the Royal Caribbean Cruise line. Alexis has remained actively involved in dance in Idaho. She coached the Skyview High School Blue Angels dance team, the Diamond Dancers at Rocky Mountain High School and is currently the coach of the Meridian High School Warriorettes Dance Team. Alexis was an instructor at Dance Pros and Dance Unlimited in Boise and was the Director of Studio C in Nampa for 5 years. In addition to the many hours she spends with her studio students, Alexis’ shares her passion for quality dance education as a member of the Boise Valley Dance Teacher’s Association. Alexis lives in Meridian with her husband Ben and their three sons, Yale, Easton and Bowen. The Xpressions Dance Academy is the fulfillment of her life-long dream and a commitment to dance education in the Treasure Valley.
Dugan Jackman's on-stage career began as a clogger at the Rocky Mountain Express Dance Studio in Burley, Idaho. This training earned him a spot on the BYU-Idaho International Folkdance Team and he toured with them throughout Europe, Canada and Central America. Dugan moved to Boise in 2005 to work with the Starlight Mountain Theatre as an actor and choreographer and he also ran their Education and Outreach program. He has choreographed musicals for Centennial High School, Idaho Arts Charter and the 'Knock 'Em Dead" Theatre. In addition to his full time job as a Director at a local fitness center, Dugan is one of the founding members of the youth theatre company, “Meridian Cue”, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing theatre education and entertainment to the children in the Treasure Valley.
Erin was born and raised in Kansas. She started dancing and tumbling when she was 7 years old. She moved to Idaho to attended school at BYU-Idaho where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences. During college, Erin danced on the BYU-Idaho International Folk Dance Team and coached tumbling for both the cheerleading and tumbling teams. Erin has over 12 years of experience teaching gymnastics, tumbling, jazz, tap and clogging. In 2011, she moved to Nampa with her husband and their 3 children. She loves teaching and is looking forward to another year of teaching Tumbling and Kinder classes at Xpressions.
Kim was born and raised in Boise Idaho and attended Meridian High School where she was a member of the Meridian High School Warriorettes Dance Team. She trained at the Pat Harris School of Dance and was on the Take Five Performance Team. After high school Kim attended Boise State University and danced on the Boise Sttate Mane Line Dance Team. Kim specializes in teaching younger children. She has taught little ones in swim lessons, gymnastics and dance for many years. ‘Miss Kim” loves training the younger age groups and works very well with them. When she is not busy teaching, Kim loves spending her free time with her son, Jaden. He is the love of her life. Kim is looking forward to another season with Xpressions Dance Academy and is excited to meet the new little dancers.
Crystal has been teaching dance for 20 years throughout the Pacific NW, the Southwest, and Midwest. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Idaho in Dance Pedagogy and a Masters of Fine Arts from the University of New Mexico in Dance Choreography. For several years Crystal owned and directed Northwest Dance Center, in Pullman, WA. She has been on faculty with the University of Idaho, Washington State University, Central Washington University, and Alma College. Crystal is passionate about teaching dance while nurturing emerging artists. Please join us in welcoming Crystal to Xpressions to lead our ballet program!
